Has anyone read this newly published book? The author is a highly-respected, world-renowned expert on food allergies, so it seems to have good potential.
I haven't finished reading it yet- but have started and really like it. Lots of good, useful information. I would definitely recommend it. I heard Dr. Wood speak at the FAAN conference and he was great.

I worked with Dr. Wood on the production of Food Allergies For Dummies, so my opinion of the book "may be" a little biased. I recommend you visit our blog at http://www.DrRobertWood.com.
Look at the About the Book section, where we offer a sample chapter from the book, a Table of Contents, and a brief description of the book. We devoted an entire chapter to Peanut Allergy. You may not be aware of this, but Dr. Wood has been living with severe peanut allergy most of his life.
We are encouraging readers of the book to post reviews on Amazon.com, so you can can check there for perhaps less biased opinions, but last I checked, no one had posted a review.
If you do purchase and read the book, Dr. Wood and I both hope you find it engaging and educational... and don't forget to post a review of it here and on Amazon.com.

Thanks for these comments about the book. My child recently began seeing Dr. Wood as his allergist, so I am familiar that he is peanut allergic himself. Based on my conversation with Dr. Wood, I also know that he's probably written a very thoughtful, easy-to-understand book about food allergies. Thanks for the "inside scoop" about the book.
Just arrived last night.
Don't expect I'll get time to do full read-thru until June, when school's out.
Will try to read from perspective of someone "new" to this food allergy world. (Been doing PA+ life for 7 1/2 years.)

Mr. Kraynak,
If you happen to return to this topic, some of us would be interested to know if, during the research for and writing of this book, you (& Dr. Wood, as well as others involved in researching, writing, &/or editing) linked from this site to others of interest, or referred to this site (pa.com) or researched any here on these boards in particular.
Thanks,

I can't speak for Dr. Wood, although I know he is well aware of the information being passed around in the food allergy community. Prior to beginning work on the project, I researched the topic just so I would be able to understand it and ask Dr. Wood some intelligent questions. I relied on Dr. Wood to provide the guidance on what people in the food allergy community, people like his patients and their parents, would want to know.
I can't sing this books praises enough. We are pretty new to food allergy, and this book was clear, concise, detailed, and positive without glossing over allergy dangers. We bought three copies - one for our house, one to loan to people who spend time with our 4 year old, and one for her preschool. Thank you for this book!!!
I thought I had posted about this book somewhere already...anyway, I have read the book and thought it was excellent!
Hi, I am currently reading this book and am very happy that I decided to buy it. It is very easy to read and understand. I am only about half way through the book and it has already helped me to understand food allergies more and answered some questions that I have had. I recommend this book to everyone that knows someone with food allergies. I am thinking of buying one for my family and daycare!!
