Hi Chris ~

Thanks for the link to the BBC watchdog story on the warnings. I found it interesting that this is the only printed article so far admitting or linking the pregnancy/nursing issue with the nuts. Do you know if there is research supporting this?

For Nicole -- I saw research somewhere but I do not remember where that if you eat a lot of peanut products whoile pregnant that you are more likely to have a peanut allergic child. While pregnant with my peanut allergic child I happened to stand over a jar of peanut butter -- it was all I wanted to eat.

There was a letter in the British Medical Journal which advised pregnant and breast feeding mothers with a history of atopy ( a family history of asthma, hay fever, eczema, or allergic reactions) to avoid peanut products to try to reduce the numbers of peanut allergic children. It is in volume 316,June 1998, page 1926, the author is Zosia Kmietowicz.
