I'm wondering about foreign travel. More than just airlines, the whole shebang.

Last I went to Germany, I had no trouble wiht my nut allergies (I think I was too busy having reactions to some weird bug bites haha). I did notice some warning labels, naturally avoided those things. German food didn't seem to have much nuts in it, and since I can speak the language, all my questions were well answered, and I survived the trip without a single reaction.

Now, I'm planning a few trips. I'm visiting my best friend in Ecuador. She says that her family there will be able to make completely peanut free food (i.e., plain old chicken things I guess.) and that they barely eat peanuts at all, but that she thinks labelling isn't too good when it comes to allergies. Does anyone know anything about this in Ecuador?

Also, I'm going for a language intensive program in Finland. This might be a stretch, but does anyone know Finland's allergy labelling policies? I've heard their cuisine is not much in the peanut department either, but that doesn;t really mean much.

And, since I've noticed a lot of people here are Canadian... What the rules in Canada and do they vary by state/province? I'm moving to Montreal. I've noticed warnings on a number of things in Montreal (once even pasta!). I know this is long, and I'm sorry if all this is answered in another post somewhere. I'm a little computer-illiterate, and I just want to try and ensure safe trips.

Thank you
