ALLERGY ALERT - UNDECLARED PEANUT AND MILK
PROTEINS IN EASY BAKE BRAND BAKE'N DESIGN
SPRINGTIME COOKIE SET
OTTAWA, March 27, 2003 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)
and Hasbro Canada are warning individuals with allergies to peanut and/or
milk proteins not to consume the Easy Bake brand Bake'n Design
Springtime Cookie Set. The White Cookie Mix, included in this set, may
contain peanut and/or milk proteins which are not declared on the label.
This alert is of concern to those individuals who have allergies to peanut
and/or milk proteins.
The affected product, Easy Bake brand Bake'n Design Springtime Cookie
Set, product of United States of America, is sold in a 74 g package bearing
UPC 0 76930 60821 0. All codes of this product are affected.
The importer, Hasbro Canada, Longueuil, Quebec, is voluntarily recalling the
affected product from the marketplace. This product has been distributed
nationally.
Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction
in persons with allergies to peanut and/or milk proteins. There has been one
reported illness associated with the consumption of this product.
The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
