I was wondering if and why you all avoid Dunkin Donuts? I went and spoke to the manager at my local DD and he pointed out the nut products to me. The ones he pointed out had walnuts added, my daughter is allergic to peanuts not tree nuts (although we are avoiding). The only other donut he pointed out was the buttercrunch. I went on their website and I can't find the ingredients on that one. Anyone know what it is? I am going to check with them tomorrow but just wanted some imput. Thanks!

We just avoid every single baked good that has no label on it. Even if you can find the ingredients you cannot be sure if it has been cross contaminated somewhere.

I do most if not all of my son's baking.

It is too much of a risk to eat baked goods anywhere other than from home.

I only avoid the Dunkin Donuts that still carry that peanut donut. It's different than the buttercrunch...it's actually coated in peanut crumbles.

If the D&D doesn't carry those, then I will get a donut there, if they carry them, then I will not get a donut there.

Note: that donut was supposedly phased out from corporate about a year ago, but, DDs are franchises, so some still decided to carry it.

The buttercrunch is actually called "butternut." And it's coconut. I went in and read the ingredients on the box, and on the website. My pa dd eats Dunkin Donuts maybe once a month. Kids at school bring in Munchkin boxes all the time, and she's never had a problem. The manager, however, told me they put their "nut" donuts on the bottom rack so the nuts don't fall into the other donuts. Oh yeah, that's being so careful, thank you very much. Anyway, I would avoid if one were tna.

Thanks for your replies everyone! I avoid all bakeries also and do all my own baking. For some reason my daughter has been asking for donuts lately. She was just diagnosed about 2 months ago and before then she never wanted donuts, of course now she does and they seem to be everywhere lately! Thanks again!
