I know this has been brought up many times, as my son gets older, he is now 10, and usually carries his meds in a fanny pack, he DOES NOT want to wear a belt. I am on the prowl for a unique idea. When he gets a cell phone which won't be till middle school at least, I thought it could go in a cell carrier somehow, the epi-pen too. Anyone out there come up with any "cool" items or found any to buy? The fanny pack has been what my kids carry everywhere they go. They actually carry it around their back like a backpack. My daughter this year got a wristlet purse to put hers in for school, and she takes it everywhere with her. Girls are easier, they can carry purses, boys...not so much!..any help?
Thanks!

Your son might not want to wear a belt but all of his pants probably have belt loops.
My son clips his epi pens onto his belt loop in an epi carrier. Yes they are visible but they are part of him and he feels normal having the epi pens right on hand.
This might be the time for your son to realize he needs his epi pens on his person or someday he'll be that guy whose epi pens are in the car and he's in the restaurant three blocks away.
Maybe 10 is a good age BEFORE too many teen issues come in. A good age for him to make h is epis part of who he is.
You can buy those key chain clips that look like what climbers use and hook the carrier onto his belt loop that way.

Peg, what "epi carrier" do you attach the key chain clip too?
After 10 years of wearing an E-Belt religiously, my 15yo has now decided the bulge under his shirt is too noticible and we're looking for ideas.
I'd like to see the holster style (like E-Belt Holster) have a swivel clip like for cell phones and not dangle quite so low - it might be an alternative . . .

This one from the FAAN site. He carries two epi pens. It does hang down but he knows his epi pens are there and he's OK with that.
We always have a new one on hand besides the one he's using.

Not really. He spent a semester in Stirling Scotland for his Junior year of college. He'd love to go back and stay, maybe some day.

Thanks everyone, yes, he knows now that he can go NOWHERE without his fanny pack, which has worked okay thus far, but, him on the edge of ending grade school, I want something that isn't as noticeable as the fannypack! I've seen the epi-belt thing, and will show him, thanks for the ideas!

I was impressed with the e-belt myself. My son, Jake, he's a small guy, but when he wears it around his pants(and pulls his shirt down) you can't hardley tell. and I would think on a bigger kid it would blend in even better??? Anyways, hopefully your son will find something that will work(I like the one in the pic above too) HUGS

Let's just say little guys don't worry about buldges as much as teenage boys do!

Yes I know that, the bulge is no where near his *you-know-what* though....it sits up higher, like around the belly button. I took a pic of him with his shirt down and then his shirt up, I'll post when I get them back(the ol' 35mm). Then sometimes he turns it to his back too, seriously, you can't see the thing! It is a good option....I also like the one that hangs down from the belt loop too, but if a shirt covers that, it will bulge as well....

Have you seen any 15 year olds with the waist of their pants anywhere near their belly-button lately? Like I said, he's been wearing an E-Belt for years, he wears it loose - like his waist bands! Imagine 6'1", 135 lbs soaking wet. Trust me, it does make his shirt stick out funny - even if it is a bit high and horizontal not verticle
I'm sure we'll settle on the right solution soon enough.

Has anyone tried the Leg Buddy? It's at www.omaxcare.com. Sort of a cool alternative to wearing something around the waist. I don't know about for a really little kid, though. My dd'd 4 and I think it would take up half her leg!

I've never seen the Leg Buddy before. I like the idea of it! Has anyone used one? Does it make you really sweaty when it's hot out? My child doesn't self-carry yet (he's 3), and I'm thinking this might be great for hikes, playgrounds, and other times I don't take a purse.
I agree, the leg buddy looks like a good idea! And it's down low, so no *bulge*!!! I will book mark it for when my guy is older, for sure(might be too bulky just yet)!!! Thanks

I am not much help, but just wanted to share...my 6yr old actually really likes his e-belt....I think because he can hide it under his shirt(he turns the Epi to the back) so there's no bump under his shirt. Anyways, good luck, girls *are* easier(because of the whole purse thing) reminds me of Seinfeld(LOL)
