To let you know my soon to be son has a peanut allegery and he just flew home with his mother. She specifically asked Alaska Airlines not to serve peanuts on both flights. Coming and going back home. They did not serve them on the way up but did serve them on the return trip. We even check with the gate person to ensure no peanuts would be served and they still did. There are some airlines which do not serve peanuts on their flights. The only one that I know of is United Airlines since they serve a snack pack but not sure if has any contents containing peanuts.

We had a terrible experience with US Air. We requested a peanut free flight...got that..but then at lunch..they GAVE my son a pb sandwich. Needless to say I ripped it from him as fast as I could and went off "nicely" on the flight attendent.
I am a mom of two anaphalactic PA boys and my daughter and myself also have allergies.
I would never let my peanut allergic child to eat airline food! When we travel, I pack all our own food and we "picnic" instead of accepting the airline food. I just wouldn't want to get into trouble during the flight. I too have had bad experiences with a supposedly peanut free flight. It seems the airlines just don't have the ability to communicate this type of information and always screw it up..
I see that other people have had problems also but does anyone know of a way of letting the airlines know that there is a problem. If not my father used to work for department of transportation and I could ask him.

oh!! I am so sorry that you had "danger in the sky"....I am the paranoid flyer, that drives every terminal crazy. Chris has asked me to "post" my story with flying that I experienced last October....I will write it up tonight to share. I have had wonderful experienced with US Air....although my last time the woman says "no peanuts, right.....are cashews ok?" WHAT!!? I think after I turned white and my jaw hit the ground, she understood...that to be a no. You can't be too careful flying...and even after checking and calling, it is pointless until you are in your seat and ring the call button....(BEFORE Take-off). It is a great opportunity to educate, as most people (peanut lovers) truly do not understand the "risk". Take care!
