I just read that Clabber Girl (they make baking items like baking soda, etc) has decided to make all of their factories peanut-free. They claim they did it in direct response to the growing number of people with peanut allergies.
Wonderful!
Sandra
I've always used clabber girl baking powder. What else do they make?

ok thanks. Our store only carries their baking powder but if I go to another store any time I will look for their other products. I only use hodgson mills baking mix though, because we're trying to stay with whole grains as much as possible.

Was Clabber Girl particularly unsafe before? We've never had any problems.

Hi,
I have not looked into all of their products. But no matter how many or few products they sell, I will buy their products over other manufactures whenever possible. I hope others will support the Clabber Girl Corporation so they will know that their concern and the added expense for extra testing is appreciated by MILLIONS of people

Dear Sue,
I was forwarded your email inquiring about our peanut free facility. I am attaching a statement detailing our program, which, in summary, states that effective June 1, 2005, all of our products that are produced on or after that date (we use a Julian date code; June 1, 2005 would be 5152) have been tested and found to be free of the peanut protein. Our labels will have a claim of "produced in a peanut-free facility".
Thank you for your interest in our products.
Sincerely,
Nita Livvix
