Chips Ahoy Rainbow cookies are now safe!!!! I just happened to look at a package at the grocery store today out of some last strange glimmer of hope and sure enough the labelling has changed! I phoned Nabisco Canada and they confirmed it. I also think that the minis are now safe as well. Remember to double check the label before buying to make sure it's not an old package. Yahoo!!! I can't believe that finally a label has changed in favour of peanut allergic kids!!! My son is so excited!

Thanks for the info. My daughter will be glad to hear she can try them, she is a big fan for the regular Chips Ahoy.

What changed? The product or the label? Did the manufacturing process change? My son eats the regular Chips Ahoy in the blue bag. I'd like to try the rainbow ones, just for a change--can somebody post about this product? What changed that makes it safe now? Thanks!

FYI- I noticed that the mini-Oreos in Toronto still have the "may contain peanuts" warning on them. They are actually manufactured in the USA and exported to Canada according to the label on the bag I saw. But the regular Oreos are fine (they are manufactured in Toronto).

The Nabisco representative said that they are now made in a peanut/nut free facility and that prompted the change in labelling.

Thanks river,

I just so happened to pick some up today thanks to you and my son ate all his dinner for 2 cookies(bribery sometimes is a great thing isn't it?).

Anyway, sheer delight....my guys loved them.
I like the no baking part of it right now that I'm on a workout kick.

Just so you know, Chips Ahoy soft cookies (they come in single serving sizes at gas stations-they DO have PEANUT FLOUR as one of their main ingredients.

I also checked the minis-pecan flour is used for those.

Has anyone ever called there to ask about changing the packaging fo the Original Chips Ahoy and Peanut butter ones-they look practically identical. I almost picked up the wrong bag b/c of that!

I emailed them, and apparently nothing has changed yet.
