Hi
Just following up on Chips ahoy cookies..I still use them , and regularly check the label. I wanted to make sure that no one has heard of them being unsafe,...both the soft and regular ones we use..... Thanks for the imfo.

Hi. Thought you might like to know that I contacted Nabisco specifically about Chips Ahoy Cookies. They told me that they are very aware of the dangers of food allergies. They told me that if any of the top 10 allergens are ingredients in any Nabisco product, it will be on the package. You don't have to worry about the "Natural Flavors" in Nabisco products because if they contain any of the top 10 allergens, it will be listed. Peanuts are #1 by the way. Also if there is any danger of cross-contamination, that will also be listed so Nabisco is an allergy-friendly company.

yes I eat Chips Ahoy all the time... Chip Deluxe are not safe, though.

When I called I was told that only the ones in the Red & the ones in the Blue packaging were safe. Reg & reg Chewy. But That the others (rainbow & deluxe etc...) have either peanut flour, peanut residue.

Also I can not remember fully but there was something about the Mini's & the snack bags ---I am thinking that they were not safe due to packaging--But not 100% on this part.

As I said in the other Chips Ahoy thread, my son had an anaphalactic reaction to Chips Ahoy (regular, blue package) about a year ago requiring the Epi Pen and trip to ER. He only took a small bite and didn't like it and spit it into the trash. By the next morning he was blown up like a balloon and vomiting and having breathing problems. When I called Chips Ahoy they made the same statements to me about how allergy aware they were but when I questioned them further they said that they did make them in the same plant as peanut products but did not label them because of their "good cleaning" practices. As I said before, not good enough for me!

HTH,
Valerie
