I saw this advertised in Allergy & Asthma Magazine. Advertised as a stylish alternative to Medical ID Bracelets...

I don't have any personal experience with this product.

Nutternomore,

I saw this advertisement yesterday while in the allergist office for routine allergy shots. I HATED it. My 7 year old PA daughter expressed the same opinion. She has always worn a medical ID bracelet and recently moved to the more attractive beaded kind with the large red medical tag. The "Charmed" bracelet looked like a charm bracelt with the offending products hanging off of it. My daughter wanted to know why in the world someone would want to wear a peanut charm on their arm if it could kill them. She associates charm bracelets with things that you like displayed. She wears a gymnast charm bracelet or a cheerleader charm bracelet. We both felt like it would not be clear that these are dangerous products. Just our opnion.

Shuleran, I agree with you. I thought the same when I looked at it.

I agree - I don't like to look at peanuts let alone wear one.

I can't get the picture to load any bigger, but for the latex one, does that charm kinda look like...sperm to anyone else? I'm sure it isn't and it's some sort of universal symbol for latex, but...

I agree, too. I'd never want my child to wear that. It makes the allergens look attractive.

LOL! That's exactly what it looked like to me, too, and I can't imagine anyone seeing it any other way!

I think it's cute in a quirky kind of way. I also have a very dark sense of humor, though. I don't think this would actually be a viable "medical" bracelet for alerting paramedics (but I'm told that my local paramedics generally don't pay attention to *any* medical jewelry--they leave that to the hospital).

If it weren't so darn expensive, I'd totally go for that silver latex sperm.

ygg

So let me see if I understand this... tomato and strawberry are included... but not sesame?? Or some treenuts, either, I notice.

I doubt they had very good advising on the actual incidence of severe FA. Either that or tomato makes a cuter charm than sesame seed.

I kinda like the sperm too.... must be supposed to remind you of...condom use??

It's a stretch, but all I could think of. LOL!

Is everyone's mind in the gutter? (LOL) The "sperm" is a balloon. Latex, balloon, get it? Actually, it's what I thought for just a second, then realized that it's a balloon.

A balloon! That makes sense now. Usually when I think of latex I usually think of medical gloves and bandaids.

But I feel better that a few people thought it was sperm too (I'm just out of college so my mind hasn't left the gutter yet
