Apologies if this has already been posted and discussed. My husband heard on TV that tennis star Serena Williams is very allergic to peanuts. There's a mention of it on the Olympic USA web site:

I just asked my husband about it again and he couldn't remember the name of the TV show... it was some kind of entertainment-style show, but the reporter said something like, "... but don't feed her peanuts because she's highly allergic to them." (that's not a direct quote, just the gist of it.) He saw this last night (Friday Jan 9).
He then looked her bio up on the Olympic site and saw the reference to the allergy there.

HMMMM - I know her and she has never mentioned this.
Well, if you know her, then ask her about it and get back to us! :-)

I have not spoken to her since her sister's death but I will in March. I have known the family for over ten years and eaten with the girls many times so I think it would be strange that the allergy issue never came up. Unless of course it is a new allergy which could be possible. She may also want to keep it confidential...anyway, I will post once I know anything.

I didn't see the word" very" there and, from how it was reported, I get the feeling that the "allergic" was more of a "joke", it being in conjunction with "crazy people".
