I've done a search and found the recipe for candy corn, which I would resort to if I really loved the stuff, but I am looking for a safe candy corn to provide for my 6 year old PA son's class for their Halloween party. (They'll skip the candy corn if I can't find a safe version.)
From the search results, it looks like no one found a safe candy corn last year. With Halloween just around the corner yet again, has anyone found a safe candy corn available this year?
Thanks,
Debbie
Thanks so much for finding the PA-safe candy corn. Unfortunately for us, since my son is also allergic to soy, he won't be able to have this candy corn, either, but just in case he ever outgrows the soy allergy, at least I know about Blueberry. I bet they'll be a great source for other candy for us, too.
Thanks again,
Debbie
Raising for questions on safe candy for Halloween.
This reply is regarding the safe candy corn from Blueberry Hill. I spoke with a CSR today and was told that I could find the product in question at Wal Mart listed under the Wal Mart "Great Value" label, sold to walmart by Blueberry Hill. So tonite I went to Wal Mart to pick some up only to read that label and see many nuts including peanuts on the label as CONTAINS. I plan I calling them on Monday to find out what is going on. Has anyone been told the same thing??
I spoke with blueberry hill about this recently because our walmart also has the may contain label on their candy corn. Blueberry hill told me that walmart gets candy corn from several suppliers. I did find blueberry hill at kmart though-on sale until saturday night. But the sale price was only a couple of pennies lower than regular price so there's no big hurry, I guess.
there's a long thread about this in the main discussion forum.

Today, I spoke with Liz on the phone at Blueberry Hill. I asked her about the locations of the plants. She said that there are 3 plants, and the one that makes the candy corn is in Juarez, Mexico. She said it is the only one that makes the candy corn. She said it was completely American run. The phone number there in Mexico is 1-915-779-8800. She said ask for quality control. She said it

Hi Debbie, I actually found one today. The company is called Blueberry Hill Foods and their web-site is www.blueberryhillfoods.com and their phone # is 1 877-BHFOODS. I called today from the grocery store and then again when i got home. I talked to 2 different CSR's and they both said that they do not make anything with nuts or peanuts in the facility that makes the candy corn, that it is a peanut-free facility. I went to their web-site and they make alot of candy and it looks like they don't use any nuts of any kind.
So it looks like DS will finally be able to have some candy corn.
Enjoy!!
