ALLERGY ALERT - UNDECLARED PEANUTS IN NUTRI FRESH FOODS SESAME CHIKKI AND SESAME LADDU

OTTAWA, June 11, 2003 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)
and Nutrifresh Foods Ltd. are warning consumers with allergies to peanuts
not to consume Nutri Fresh Foods Sesame Chikki and Sesame Laddu.
These products may contain peanuts that are not declared on the label.
This alert is of concern to those individuals with allergies to peanuts.

The following products are affected by this alert:

1. Nutri Fresh Foods Sesame Chikki (Sesame Candy), a sesame bar, sold in
100 GRS packages,

2. Nutri Fresh Foods Sesame Laddu (Sesame Balls), sold in 200 GRS
packages.

All codes are affected by this alert. These products are imported from India.

The importer, Nutrifresh Foods Ltd., Montreal, Quebec, is voluntarily
recalling the affected products from the marketplace. These products have
been distributed in Ontario and Quebec.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening
reaction in persons with allergies to peanuts. There have been no reported
illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

442-2342. - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm local time - Monday to Friday.

has been expanded to include additional product information. The
Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Nutrifresh Foods Ltd. are
warning consumers with allergies to peanuts not to consume Nutri Fresh Foods Sesame Chikki and Sesame Laddu. These products may contain
peanuts that are not declared on the label. This alert is of concern to those
individuals with allergies to peanuts.
