ALLERGY ALERT - UNDECLARED PEANUT AND SULPHITES
IN SEVERAL SNACK BARS MADE BY SUNFRESH ORGANICS
OTTAWA, March 20, 2002 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)
is warning consumers with allergies to peanut and sulphites not to consume
Sunfresh Organics snack bars identified below. These products may contain
peanut protein and sulphites which are not declared on the label. This alert
is of concern to those individuals who have allergies to peanut or sulphites.
All of these Sunfresh Organics snack bar products are affected by this alert
as they may contain undeclared peanut or sulphites as identified below.

Carob Fruit & Nut - 45 g - 7 74841 10005 1 - peanut
Cashew Crisp - 57 g - 7 74841 00004 7 - peanut
Nature's Bar - Not identified - No UPC - peanut, sulphites
These products may have been distributed nationally.
Consumption of these products may cause serious or life-threatening
reaction in persons with allergies to peanut or sulphites. There have been
no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
