OPK. Ann doesnt eat much soup, nor do we buy much...

But there was a sale, I grabbed a lot for the food pantry, and some for us...

I kept one called 'Campbells Select' - 'Mexican Style Chicken Tortilla'.

It sounds safe...

But Im sitting here, eating it, and looked at the ingreds.... I did a double take.

'peanut oil'. Dead center in the ingred label.

No 'may contains' or 'contains' statement (its been in my car a while.. Pre-2006).

Thats all.

Jason

I called Campbell's a few days ago about their spaghetti - o's. They assured me that the top 8 allergens would be listed as would sesame. This is because they are working with FAAN and trying to be sensitive to as many allergens as possible...The person I spoke to seemed well informed. My son had the spaghetti - o's without a problem.

Ya know, soup is a real issue for my oldest. Not because of the peanut allergy, but because of his multiple allergies to various bean type legumes.

Like a LTFA (anaphylaxis) to lentils.

And various other beans. Some that I never quite figured out what to call. I believe "pinto" is one. I know "chickpea" is another. I mean, it's not like I take the time to discern. We just say: "no beans". Or even debate cross-contamination. KWIM?

I mean, things like lentils, they're not considered one of the "Big 8".

But no advice.

i know my son use to eat mashed chick peas when he was little and i think he stopped liking it or didnt like the hummus i offered. he eats green peas occasionally but i havnt given him beans. i am afraid and if he doesnt like them thats good enough for me. the allergist said it should be ok if he eats peas. i get so scared feeding him peas. he HATED the peabutter.
