Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, with the apple or hershey pies at BK? We've won a few apple pies in the spiderman game and we're going on vacation soon so we might want to try the other pies too since we'll be eating lots of fast food on the road. thanks!

Funny, I just had the hershey pie from BK when I was alone (I have no allergies, but my ds and dh do). I looked on the box for ingredients and nutritional info, and there was NOTHING on there! I'd never eat it unless I were alone though... HTH.

that was the fastest reply I've ever gotten. lol. I just found this on the BK website. NOTE that BK does have a "may contain" statement on the nestle toll house cookies so I am thinking that makes me trust their labeling of other things. Anyway, there is no may contain on either of the pies. HOWEVER the hershey pie says "natural flavors from plant sources" and it does not give the name of the plant, so that might make me leery of giving it to my dd who is allergic. But then again most of the items say natural flavors from plant sources (including chicken tenders, french fries, shakes, sodas, and more) and what with the other allergen warnings and the faan link on the page, I can't imagine that they wouldn't mention if their plant sources are allergens. Anyway, here's what it said for the pies:

[i]DUTCH APPLE PIE

Apples, Water, Enriched Flour (Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), High Fructose Corn Syrup, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Shortening (Soybean and Cottonseed Oils), Sugar, Food Starch-Modified, Margarine (Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Water, Salt, Whey, Vegetable Mono- and Diglycerides, Soybean Lecithin, Artificial Flavors, Beta Carotene, Vitamin A Palmitate), Wheat Starch, Apple Juice Concentrate, Soybean Oil, Dextrose, Salt, Silicon Dioxide, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Cinnamon, Malic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid. Contains Milk and Wheat.

HERSHEY

Gale,

I just happened to see your post. I didn't even notice the timeline there! LOL.

I wonder why the pies don't have the ingredients on the individual packages?? Thanks for posting the info on it...
