Here's my frustrating story about another company, labeling, and the quest for safe treats for my sweet little boy...

I do not knowingly buy any products containing or "may containing" PN or TN. My 4 yr. old has had the Archway sugar cookies in the bags - the ones shaped like ABC letters, he thinks it is so great to eat letters, he spells with them and actually they taste really good, really sugary!

I noticed some of their other products do say "may contain" These letter cookies do not. I just was curious and wanted more or less reassurance from Archway that these were made on a dedicated line, or facility. BIG PRESUMPTION! After calling the number on the bag or, as I like to call it the UNINFORMATION LINE! Someone who "knew about that kind of stuff" called me back 3 days later.

No Archway cookies are made on dedicated lines. I was told by this woman that the nut/peanut cookies are mixed and packaged, then the next batch of cookies - which are those not specifically containing nuts - are mixed and packaged... these have the "may contain" warning. Then the remainder of the cookies, including these letter shaped ones are mixed and packaged... all on the same equipment, my friends. The letter cookies are out of here!

She told me "If this is a life and death situation I suggest you not use them." HELLO??!! Obviously it is a life and death situation and she realizes it too. I am wondering why the label discrepancy - they are getting a formal letter from me... and also wondering is it not enough LIVES for them to take more care/put on additional labels or is it not enough DEATHS? UGH!

Just wondering, is there NO cleaning between the different runs? I guess I need to call to find out. My son eats those ABC cookies, and like you I had noticed they contained no warning although some of their other products do. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the warning, Becky! My mom gave our kids the ABC cookies at Christmastime. Thankfully we had no reactions. I'm calling her today to tell her about this. Just another stressful day!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again, Victoria
