I posted a while ago that I thought my ds's milk allergy was getting worse. He is off all dairy, but seems to be having some kind of contact or trace reactions which haven't been serious. (but a concern). Don't know if it's dairy or not.

This past week I've noticed twice where he is sleeping in a cold, clamy, sweat. Really drenced. I wondered if it was allergies the first time, but no other symptoms.

Last night he awoke with a very bad bleeding nose. I had to call the health nurse for advice to get it stopped. It did stop and he went back to sleep, only to be in another cold sweat 30 min. later.

This morning, he used a wet cloth to clean the outside of his nose, and it started bleeding again. I got it stopped in 10 min. and he seems ok now.

We are going to the allergist this Thurs., just wondered if this kind of thing can be a symptom? Has anyone had these things happen in realation to food allergies?

Thanks for the help

Linda

Dunpun, does your son have any environmental allergies? Is it dry in your space because of the heat source?

My son did get bloody noses before due to his environmental allergies and we were prescribed a generic version of Flonase.

Also, no matter where we live and what type of heat we have, we've always needed a cool mist humidifier in our bedrooms when the heat is on to prevent bloody noses, headaches, and extremely dry skin.

But no, we haven't had anything like this due to PA.

Best wishes!

As soon as I get into bed, even in summer, I'm so cold. But when I wake up in the middle of the night I'm drenched. I think it's just an annoyance issue, not an allergy issue, although I have incredible environmental allergies.

My nose has also been bleeding every day since early November because it's so dry in winter (it was much worse when I was living in Iowa last month, now not so bad). My mother's bleeds too and she has no allergies. I think the person above me suggested a humidifier, that might be a good idea

Youngest ds used to get nosebleeds and I could always relate it to when he needed to use flovent. At that time he needed to use the aerochamber to get his dose. It turns out that while using the aerochamber, he would also inhale the flovent through his nose. The steroid weakened the blood vessels and gave him nosebleeds.
