So far I have only found Cabot, Bordan and Sargento cheeses to be safe. None of these brands include any goat, parmesan, feta or gorgonzola and I need to prepare some dishes tomorrow for a friends arrival. Any suggestions? HELP.
Thx
If you have access to Organic Valley, we have used a wide variety of their cheeses (including Romano) without incident. I *think* they have feta.
M used to wind up with patches of excema occasionally after eating homemade alfredo sauce (used pec/romano from Trader Joe's)-- but never has since we switched to Organic Valley. They are quite easy to talk to -- as I recall, they only advised avoiding their cream cheese, as it could share lines with a walnut version.
As always, you'll want to doublecheck the above. For the future, you might have fun looking up ryan's mom's cheesemaking thread!

I have used parmesan and feta from the deli without any incident. Never asked whether they were 'safe' or not just assumed they would be.
