As I stated in my e-mail, I started Amanda's Own Confections due to my daughter's (Amanda) life threatening food allergies. I really wanted her life to be as typical as possible in every way, including what she ate.
Our chocolate is a semi-sweet chocolate that tastes like a dark chocolate. The ingredients for our chocolate are: Sugar, chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, soy lecithin and vanillin. Chocolate liquor is ground roasted cacao beans; cocoa butter is a natural fat from the cacao bean; and soy lecithin is a natural emulsifier.
We have a certificate from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirming that our chocolate is processed on dedicated dairy-free lines. In addition, there are NO peanuts, tree nuts or sesame seed products produced in the plant, which is also on our FDA certification. The chocolate is packaged and sealed in boxes at the plant, so there is no chance for any cross contamination during shipping from the plant to us at Amanda's Own Confections. Once the chocolate reaches us, we temper, mold and package the chocolate in a dairy-free and nut-free facility as well. The only items we produce are those made of our chocolate, so there is no chance for cross contamination.
