I was looking through medical alert products and came across some medical alert tags for my daughters shoes. I know that might sound silly, but at day care and school, they don't like from them to have necklaces for fear of it getting caught and them chocking. Bracelets work, but she gets irritated with it and takes it off. Atleast I know she will have her shoes on. They are bright red with the medical emblem on it and you can have what ever you want stamped on the back. They are, I believe 2 dollars a piece. Here is the e-mail address if anyone is interested. Thanks!!! I just ordered some!!! These would be good in addition to a bracelet in case they take the bracelet off!

We ordered those a few months ago and they have been wonderful (Of course when I can keep Stephen's shoes on) They were a lifesaver when flying last month because the bracelet (which we keep on his ankle) makes everyone want to grab and look (mainly because they expect it to be baby id bracelet) and the tags keep people's hands off because they are so much more obvious. They were a little large for his shoe but not much for anyone worried about size. Stephen has very little feet and still wears a size 1 sometimes a 2 at 11 months.

Medic-Alert now has sports bracelets which are cool looking (oh, so important!) and fit tightly against the wrist - now I feel good about my son wearing one on the playground.

I ordered these medical alert tags for my 1 1/2 year old's sneakers. They are wonderful: well made and very cheap. One side says "Severe Peanut Allergy", the other side has the familiar allergy-warning symbol.

In addition to being a safegaurd in case she has a reaction and (for some reason) no one with her knows why, these serve as a continuous reminder to people around her that she has a serious medical condition.
