I found a piece of an almond in a container of Vanilla Rice Dream frozen dessert on Friday (Nov 3). I purchased this product in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada).

This morning, an inspector from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency came by for the product.

I am angry and disappointed that Imagine Foods is not more clear in their labels, and on their website, that their frozen desserts could contain nuts or peanuts.

I am allergic to nuts and my son is PA. Needless to say, we won't be buying any of their products again.

Hi Mary
I have recently contacted imagine foods regarding their frozen desserts. The response: There is small chance of cross-contamination. Unlike the Rice Dream and Soy Dream Beverages and our Imagine pudding Snacks, the Frozen Dessert Pints and Quarts are made at an Ice Cream facility where dairy and nuts are processed. Although the equipment is cleaned and sterilized with the utmost care,[and to FDA specifications], I cannot guarantee that there would be no possibility of contamination from dairy or peanuts/tree nuts. I hope this helps. Bonnie
