Adults With Allergies Support Group Eastern MA

I am interested (with another PA person) in forming a Support Group for Adults with PN/TN (and/or other) food allergies. This would ideally be for ADULTS with allergies and would focus on adult issues which are somewhat different than those of children with PN/TN allergies. There are already a few groups that address the needs of parenting children with FA, but none that I know of for adults.

Please contact me at cdesign99@yahoo.com for more information because it is sometimes difficult to find replies here.

Hope to hear from anyone.

Christine

There are online groups for adults with food allergies. Most in-person support groups are aimed at parents of FA children.

The only one I know of is the Special Board here. I have never heard of any others. Have you? Do you know their web addresses?

And, the original point, albeit perhaps futile, was to see if there are other adults with nut allergies in the Massacusetts area who may be interested in being part of a support group that meets in person (like the Parental support groups) and not on-line.

No harm in trying.

Please see thread on Adult Support Groups in Eastern MA if you'd like.

Yahoo!Groups has FCMYI--food can make you ill. It's a bit broader than just food allergies, going into sensitivities from chemicals, sulfites, etc, but it's primarily adult in scope.

Many of the specialty diet-allergy groups tend to attract
adults--VegetarianGF, Vegan-and-gluten-free, etc.

Just FYI... This is a for-fee group therapy group run by Christine's therapist in Marblehead.

I was hoping for a peer-run support group. I am willing to organize one if anyone is interested in getting together with other adults with food allergies in the metro Boston area. This is a big need for a lot of us and simply isn't out there (no, the groups for parents are NOT the same thing since the concerns are so different).

If anyone's interested in a support group or a penpal, please let me know. Thanks.

SillyFeline,

Please feel free to email me again. I have not been on here for quite a while. You suggested someplace in Boston...

We should try! Even if it's outdoors on a bench in the Commons.
