Sunflower Seed Butter!

Yes, It's true.  I tried sunflower seed butter!  My parents were in town this weekend to celebrate my birthday, and I decided what better time to try this peanut butter substitute.  As I had expected, they were pretty shocked at my request.  I told them that if I could eat it, then I'd be able to create a lot more recipes.  So off to Trader Joe's we went, and bought crackers, strawberry jelly, and a jar of sunflower seed butter.  I made everone, and myself, little sandwiches.  I couldn't believe how much the sunflower seed butter actually looked and smelled like peanut butter, and all of my senses were telling me to stay away from it.  I swallowed whatever nerves I could, and then swallowed the sunflower seed butter.  My heart was racing as I was chewing, and then started to calm down once I noticed the familiar taste of sunflower seeds.  I waited a couple minutes to see if I felt sick, and then polished off the rest of the cracker.  I can't say that I'll become an avid eater of sunflower seed butter, but I am really proud of myself for trying it, and also really excited for the new recipes that are now open to me!
