Sugar Monkey Doodles!

If you were wondering, yes I totally made up the name of this cookie.  This breed of deliciousness is a cross between a sugar cookie, a snickerdoodle, and monkey bread. Crazy, right? RIGHT!  I wanted to combine all of my favorite desserts into one mega-cookie, and here is what I've come up with.  Although none of these original deserts contain peanuts, a lot of times cookie dough packaging will say "may contain" so those of us with allergies have to stay away.  I sure fire way to know exactly what is going into your desserts is by preparing them yourself!  These cookies smell delicious, look delicious and taste even better, so I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients (makes 20 cookies):
1 Cup flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. baking power
9 tbs. softened butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tbs. dark brown sugar
1 Egg
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Pinch of Salt
Coating:
3 tbs. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.  In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar.  Once that is mixed, beat in egg and vanilla, and then gradually blend in flour mixture. Refrigerate for 10 minutes in the bowl.  While refrigerating, in another bowl mix together the coating of sugar and cinnamon. Remove dough and make tsp. size balls and roll in the blended coating of sugar and cinnamon.  Place on cookie sheet 2 inches apart.  Bake for 10 minutes, allow to cool on wire cookie rack, and enjoy! (Great with coffee or tea.)
