Happy Father’s Day to Food Allergy Dads
Although being a food allergy mom is a privilege of sorts, it’s also hard, uncertain, and at times it is flat overwhelming. If you’re a food allergy mom, you know exactly what I mean. It’s the hardest job I’ll ever love and I wouldn’t trade it for the world because God has blessed me with the gifts of little hands, little hearts, and sweet little belly laughs that warm me from the inside out.
All that said, I wouldn’t be the mom I am without the love of a good man: my husband, aka The Food Allergy Dad.
Every single day he chooses to stand by my son’s side, by my side, and be a leader for our family. He is our cheerleader, protector, and advocate when it comes to food allergies.
He shamelessly hounds friends and family (I mean fundraises) for the annual FARE walk (donate or join our team HERE). He leads the local Scout pack to ensure our son’s safety for one of his favorite extracurricular activities. He works tirelessly to afford our family the crazy number of doctor visits, allergy tests, and allergy/asthma medications. He is a master allergy-friendly vacation planner that puts most travel agents to shame. These are all things he knew nothing about when we married almost twelve years ago, but that he does today with a great deal of selflessness and grace!
Together we make a fantastic team and our family is blessed to have him as Dad!
Happy Father’s Day to food allergy dads everywhere for all that you do to support your families!
