Allerbling Food Allergy Awareness Bracelets – Keeping Kids Safe

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of AllerblingTM. All opinions are 100% mine.
As parents of a child with multiple food allergies, keeping our son safe and alive is our first priority. He’s only two years old so can’t efficiently articulate that he has food allergies to the people he meets and he’s a wanderer, which adds to the dangers of him having food allergies. He’s cute (I might be a bit bias here) and strangers always seem to offer him candy and other sweet treats, sometimes without asking us first.

Allerbling Bracelets

Last week we received a full Allerbling kit for our son with multiple food allergies just in time for one of our favorite events, the Sacramento Music Festival. Thousands gather for this 4-day event over Memorial Day weekend and you can imagine how challenging it can be bringing a child with multiple food allergies to such a large event.

Allerbling Food Allergy Awareness Bracelets – Keeping Kids Safe

The full Allerbling kit includes 2 bands (one toddler size and one child size), 1 medical cross, and 8 cute iconic charms with symbols of the most common food allergies. Even though Allerbling is designed with children in mind featuring bright colors and cute charms, the medical cross charm is a reminder for everyone that the bracelet is still a food allergy awareness tool that can potentially prevent a life threatening food reaction.
Adding charms to the bracelet to customize it for our son’s specific food allergies was easy. We simply folded the soft latex-free backing of the charm and, while gently stretching the band, squeezed the charm partially through the hole. We pulled the backing through the other side and just like threading a needle, we were done. And, since our son has six of the top eight most common food allergies, we used both bracelets to hold all the charms that apply to him. (If you use both bracelets as well, slip the child size bracelet on first and the toddler size bracelet will keep it from falling off.)

As you can see, Mitch LOVES his new Allerbling food allergy awareness bracelets and I love the added security of him wearing a medic alert bracelet. Not only did the bracelets help keep him safe at the Sacramento Music Festival, but also at his brother’s end of the year little league baseball party.
