Recipes and Tips for Easter

The Easter holiday is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate than enjoying a home cooked meal with family and friends.

If food allergies are an issue, holiday meals can be frustrating. Following are some tips and recipes to help make the weekend fun.

Bring a Dish to Share
If you are eating at a friend or relatives house, consider bringing a safe dish to share. That way you know what you are eating is safe and you or your food allergic child won't go hungry.

Prepare in Advance
Mention allergies to the host/hostess in advance and ask that they keep ingredient labels on hand.

Eat a Mini Meal Beforehand
If you are worried about the food and don't plan to bring your own dish, consider eating a small meal beforehand. Then snack off of the veggie or fruit tray or eat only a salad.

Host at Your House
If it's not too late, consider hosting the event at your own home. That way you can be sure that all foods are safe for everyone to enjoy.
